I think this political pendulum correction was needed before our society and culture slipped into an Orwellian type of totalitarianism. The way the political left has been presenting itself in the last 15+ years is almost like a religion or a cult, opposition to their chosen narratives is considered pure heresy with all the negative connotations that goes along with that.

Now The Open Marketplace of Ideas Is Considered To Be The Dark Ages?

It's kind of like the old "frog in the pot" metaphor, people aren't unaware of how their thinking is anti-free speech and how that kind of thinking threatens to our society and culture because those thoughts developed so gradually that it made them seem normal.
