An Open Public Message To The President of the United States

Dear Mr. President,
I’d like to share some thoughts from an independently minded, critically thinking, political moderate voter that has voted across partisan lines my entire adult life, aka another outspoken person from that elusive “basket of deplorables” I’ve heard tell about. Yes I know, anyone that’s ideologically to the right of the totalitarian minded Atilla the Hun is considered an extreme Republican these days by most Democrats and progressives, they can call me whatever they like.

It’s time for a new political tactic from the White House, it’s time to be more “Presidential” and it only takes two specific things to accomplish this:

  1. If what you intend to say is specifically framed and said to insult or anger those who oppose you (aka Democrats, progressives, and never-Trumpers) then don’t say it!
  2. If a political action you intend to take is specifically designed and presented to anger those who oppose you (aka Democrats, progressives, and never-Trumpers) then don’t do it.
  3. As a general rule, don’t let the public see or hear your emotions.

Please don’t brush this aside, hear me out.

Mr. President, I do realize that you have a bit of fun when you attack, aka intentional trolling, those who oppose you causing them to collectively lose their minds, but it’s time for a tactical shift that better supports “We the People” of the United States of America (USA). I’m not in anyway saying that you shouldn’t do things that are needed just because there is a possibility that it will anger those who oppose you; let’s face reality, those who oppose you have shown us their pattern that no matter what you do they’re going to attack you. The absurd Trump Derangement Syndrome reactions and absolute all consuming hate coming from these people is sometimes painfully obvious.

All that said; if you think something needs to be done to support the people of the USA, then have the personal fortitude required of our President to do what it takes to get the job done within the confines of the Constitution and ignore the real possibility that it may anger some people. Personally, I think you’re already doing this, but it’s the intentional trolling of those who oppose you that you’re specifically trying to anger that needs to stop; this tactic is not supporting “We the People” of the USA, in fact it’s dividing us more each and every day, this is ethically, morally and politically wrong for you to continue doing. Remember, what you say and how you say it directly and indirectly affects “We the People”. Please keep “We the People” in mind, stay away from trolling those who hate you, stay away from using personal insults, and stay on the topics that your agenda needs.

Remember, you’re not campaigning for office any more, you’re leading our nation.

In the last 11+ months, you as President of the United States and your Administration have been intentionally transparent and willingly talked to the “fake news” media (that hates you) and you’ve done it more than President Biden did in his entire four years as President, this is refreshing and doing something that really needed to be done. However; it’s time for you as President of the United States to turn a new leaf, shift tactics, and delegate most of that direct contact. It’s time to intentionally cut way back on your direct contact with the media, they can get their information in other ways such as press briefings and press releases. You have a staff that is there to deal directly with this, like Karoline Leavitt, but you can also use the rest of your senior staff for this purpose. You no longer have to be, and shouldn’t be, the one in front of the camera all the time, even if you like doing it. Please delegate more effectively in this regard.

I know this may be counter to your normal personality, but you need to face the fact that the words you use and how you say them can either positively or negatively affect “We the People” and in recent months it’s been primarily negative. Remember, we didn’t elected you to insult and anger everyone that opposes you, thus driving a political wedge between “We the People”, it’s time to seriously consider doing things that can inspire unity in “We the People”. Please shift your tactics to better support “We the People”, Mr. President, and just focus on doing the massive repairs needed, that’s exactly what you were elected to do.

If you cannot do the things I’ve asked, the next best thing is to just keep quiet. Remember, the media is going to attack you whether you talk to them or not. Choosing not to talk to them, at least as much as you do now, effectively disarms them on one level because they cannot twist what you say, cherry pick your words, or read what’s not there between what you actually say. Sure they’ll make up plenty of absurd Frankenstein assembled narratives to attack you with anyway, but why should you personally give them additional rhetorical ammo that they can use to attack you?

Please Mr. President, choose to support the “We the People” and shift your rhetorical tactics, let the hate filled Trump Derangement Syndrome Democrats and progressives lose their minds in other ways.

Lastly; there is someone in the Washington DC area that could help with this kind of endeavor, his name is Jack Marshall. Marshall is a experienced professional ethicist and has the knowledge and communication skills needed to sit down one-on-one and be helpful as long as the “helped” people are reasonably receptive. I respect Marshall a great deal, he’s an honest, critically thinking, and trustworthy man. I absolutely certain that his input could be invaluable to you. Marshall is a very reliable source for unique, engaging and effective professional ethics training. 1. Were there only someone in the Trump Administration that would pull him aside and give him a Dutch Uncle talk like LBJ gave George Wallace during the Civil Rights legislation:

(bolds/italics mine) “George, you and I shouldn’t be thinking about 1965; we should be thinking about 1985. We’ll both be dead and gone then.

Now, you got a lot of poor people down there in Alabama, a lot of ignorant people. A lot of people need jobs; a lot of people need a future. You could do a lot for them.

Now, in 1985, George, what do you want left behind? Do you want a great big marble monument that saysGeorge Wallace: He Built‘? Or do you want a little piece of scrawny pine lying there along that hot caliche soil that saysGeorge Wallace: He Hated‘?”

If someone…anyone…could get through to him!
