Extreme Bias: A Case Study

Since June of 2020, I have posted nineteen essays regarding the abnormal, inexcusable, irrational (you’ll understand why that’s italic later) and extreme bias of a local blogger, Gregory Humphrey, aka dekerivers, of Caffeinated Politics. Including this 20th essay, I’ve devoted 9.8% of my blog posts to Humphrey’s bias. After all that, I think it’s fair to call this a case study on extreme bias. Take the time to read all previous nineteen essays to get a comprehensive understanding of this case study.

Why so much attention to an insignificant biased blogger; because Humphrey is local to the Madison and Dane County, WI area, which happens to be the ideological bubble (surrounded by reality) that I live in. Humphrey’s opinions are a reasonable representation of the abnormal, inexcusable, irrational and extremely biased views that flow freely through the veins and arteries of the Madison and Dane County population, infecting all those that don’t have their critical thinking immunizations up to date. I’m certain that there are other areas across the United States of America (USA) that have similar extremely biased people like Humphrey, so I share my critical thinking regarding what’s happening here in an effort to help others better understand the core of this 21st century progressive movement that appears to be trying to undermine the Constitutional and moral foundations of the USA.

The essays I’ve posted related to Humphrey range from presenting a Facebook conversation with Humphrey where he fabricated one false narrative after another about me building ridiculous strawman arguments, to Humphrey knowingly parroting blatant lies, aka actual real world defamation, about someone that he hates and has apparently consumed his psyche. Today I read a new essay from this abnormal, inexcusable, irrational and extremely biased author titled “U.S. Citizenry Must Stop Normalizing The Abnormal“. I was intrigued when I read that title because I agree with the statement in regards to what’s been happening to our society in the 21st century and it’s really clear to me that the political left has been actively trying to “normalize the abnormal”.

Humphrey started off by referencing some United States history to show a reasonable correlation between what’s happening in our 21st century society compared to what happened in the 1860’s.

Humphrey quoted Horace Greeley from 1860,

“The Union-loving men are cowed and speechless; a Reign of terror prevails from Cape Fear to the Rio Grande. Every suggestion of reason is drowned in a mad whirl of passion and faction.”

Then Humphrey opined that,

“Greeley had come to understand that the preservation of the Republic required more than compromise at every turn. What Greene called for from the first Republican president-elect [Abraham Lincoln] was nothing short of all-out conviction in our core principles.”

Then Humphrey made the following statement,

“I need not write for my readers that at this very moment in our nation, we face no less a test. Not only concerning many of our elected leaders, but also for the citizenry.”

I’ve been saying something similar to that last quote long before I started this blog in 2019. If I remember correctly, I began to see serious problems with our nation and society heading in a very bad direction back in 2007-2008. It seemed to me that people had pigeonholed the Constitution as being a quaint piece of history that was irrelevant in the 21st century.

Up to this point in Humphrey’s essay, I found his correlation to history and his stated opinions to be reasonable; however, when I read what followed it was clear to me that Humphrey had gone completely off the rails of reality. What started off as a reasonable essay rapidly turned into an abnormal, inexcusable, irrational and extremely biased screed authored by a person that has absolutely no awareness of what his own cabal of progressive (actually regressives) anti-Americans have been doing to the USA and he has no self-awareness that he is part of an anti-American, pro anarchy, totalitarian movement that has been, and is actively, undermining the core foundations of the USA.

Humphrey tells his readers that, “What we are facing is a moral collapse…”, to which I say he is absolutely correct; however, he is psychologically projecting the moral collapse of the political left upon the Conservative right. I’ve been discussing the moral bankruptcy of the political left since I started this blog, it’s been low hanging fruit.

Humphrey implies with his words that he doesn’t want to “…allow our foundations of democracy to be undermined and removed” but he blindly supports the narratives presented by the progressive left even when they actually undermine the foundations of democracy. It appears to me that as long as the narratives oppose President Trump, Republicans, and Conservatives he is onboard with the narratives even when they are verifiably false and he parrots the narratives as if they’re fact.

Then Humphrey shows us what abnormal, inexcusable, irrational, extreme bias, and Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) looks like when he cherry picks some of the left’s propaganda narratives into a list and never provides context. This is very intentional, it’s lying by omission misinformation, this is exactly what propagandists do. Here is what his Trump deranged mind lists as “fawning and capitulation to Trump”.

  1. “CBS News, once a proud defender of truth, buckled to an absurd lawsuit by Trump…” That was written without providing a shred of context, it’s a lie by omission. CBS deceptively edited an October 2024 “60 Minutes” interview with Kamala Harris which was very intentional and a very deliberate manipulation to deceive the public and therefore constitutes election and voter interference. CBS was clearly in the wrong but of course a progressive hack like Humphrey calls it “fawning and capitulation to Trump” because CBS settled instead of being publicly dragged through the mud that they created themselves. Humphrey blames evil Trump for having the audacity to point out the manipulation using the legal system. CBS is blameless, Trump did it, therefore it’s evil.
  2. “CBS… took actions against Stephen Colbert that left the nation stunned.” That was written without providing a shred of context, it’s another lie by omission. CBS actually canceled “The Late Show with Steven Colbert” because it was losing tens of millions of dollars annually not because CBS was “fawning and capitulation to Trump” as Humphrey implied. Of course people like Humphrey were “stunned” because they couldn’t get their Colbert TDS talking points anymore. They needed their talking points fix and they didn’t give a damn how much money CBS lost while delivering it to them. Since TDS requires that Trump is blamed for everything, Trump is also blamed for CBS’s financial decision to cancel Colbert’s show, it’s touted as some kind of unsupportable conspiracy; therefore, Trump is evil.
  3. “Legal firms, once guided by standards of justice, are now wary of political retaliation and have scaled back pro bono work, diversity initiatives, and litigation that could place them in conflict with the Trump administration.” That is written without giving any real context at all except that “fawning and capitulation to Trump” implication, therefore it’s Trump’s fault. Seriously, what the heck is Humphrey talking about? As far as I’m concerned, this falls directly in the “guilty until proven innocent” unsupportable accusations. For those suffering from TDS, Trump is always guilty until proven innocent.
  4. “Republican members of Congress, who swore oaths to the Constitution, now echo the rhetoric of strongmen and shrug at the rule of law.” That was written without providing a shred of evidence to support the claim except for the “fawning and capitulation to Trump” ongoing implication. “Shrug at the rule of law”? Seriously? What the heck is Humphrey talking about? But of course, as usual with the left’s unsupported accusations, Republicans are also always guilty until proven innocent.
  5. “Universities, long bastions of free inquiry, now muzzle scholars and bend to demands about ideological conformity.” That was written as fact when the exact opposite has been factually evident for roughly 20 years. In my opinion; only a liar or an indoctrinated imbecile or someone suffering from actual delusions would openly consider writing an absurd public statement like that. Universities have become progressive ideological bubbles that demand conformity within their ranks as is evident from the intentional lack of Conservative facility members and the fact that they have been intentionally silencing the free speech of anyone who’s political views are anywhere to the right of Karl Marx. There was no “fawning and capitulation to Trump” but there certainly was some “Holy Shit, we’ve been caught!”.
  6. “Tech companies, which built the infrastructure of modern social media, now amplify disinformation for profit.” That was written as if it was fact when it is actually a lie. What tech companies actually did was to allow free speech on their platforms and stop the anti-free speech leftist mob from controlling what’s seen on social media platforms. By the way, the anti-free speech mob is still going strong and controlling what’s seen on the Nextdoor social media platform.
Facts Be Damned!
How Dare People Say Things We Disagree With!!
Delete The Words Or Suffer The Consequences!!!

Here’s a very generalized observation about the political left; if Trump, Republicans, or Conservatives support something, anything, then the 21st century political left and Humphrey are against it; also, if Trump, Republicans, or Conservatives are opposed to something, anything, then the 21st century political left and Humphrey support it. Sure there may be a few scattered token agreements but, that really does seem to be the observed pattern of the political left, in general. It seems to me that the political left has tried their hardest to dig an ideological morality trap for Trump and Republicans to fall into, but Democrats and progressives are the ones falling into their own trap and seem to be doing it on nearly a daily basis, but yet they keep on digging.

When You Find Yourself In A Rhetorical Hole,
You Should Stop Digging!

It’s become obvious to me that there are four tenets of “truth” for the 21st century political left:

  1. The left is right.
  2. The right is wrong.
  3. Wrong is evil.
  4. Evil should be destroyed.

That’s the dead end of the 21st century political left’s critical thinking.

Humphrey went on to write,

“When Greeley wrote to Lincoln, he asked for strength. He asked for clarity. He asked for a leader who would not barter the soul of the nation for temporary peace.”

That’s exactly what President Trump is giving us right now and imbeciles like Humphrey are too damned indoctrinated and biased to recognize that fact, instead they attack him and Republicans at every turn. It’s the political left that’s selling the soul of the nation, not the Republicans.

You can read below that Humphrey concludes by talking about abnormal, inexcusable, and irrational but he completely fails to be self-aware enough to understand that he’s psychologically projecting these things on the political right and I’ve been highlighting it for years.

I’m going to parrot Humphrey’s two conclusion paragraphs but I’m going to change one word to make the whole thing factually accurate and add a link to provide some context regarding the absurdity of the political left…

What I utterly reject is that we bend and concede at every absurdity from [the political left] because if we normalize the abnormal, excuse the inexcusable, and rationalize the irrational, we will end up as Greely feared in 1860. The loss of our nation. This cannot and must not be permitted.

So let us choose not to lose our spine and resolve. Not to melt. Not to kneel. But to stand up as citizens and love democracy enough to fight for it.

The End.

  1. Whenever The Gotch hears any reference to Humphrey, he always recalls him saying something to the effect that he “doesn’t run away from fascism, he runs toward it.”

Humphries is a lyin’ deceivin’, hyper-partisan, gutless phuque-wit who’d $#!t himself sideways and fold like a cheap suit if he ever faced anything remotely near that which he claims he would confront.

He’s the guy that descends warily from the safety of the hills, AFTER the battle, to shoot any survivors.
