Self-Awareness
The ability to understand and recognize your own thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and motivations.
It’s become increasingly evident over the last 10 years that 21st century progressives are having a terrible time with self-awareness. Their actions are so obviously removed from their virtue signaling that it’s becoming easier and easier to think that they’re in some kind of psychological delusional state of mind. When a person tries to publicly portray themself as having a particular virtue but their actual actions don’t reflect that virtue it becomes tragically obvious that they lack enough genuine self-awareness and they’re deluding is themself, the result can easily be brazen hypocrisy.
Today’s low hanging fruit progressive absurdity comes from a very familiar source for anyone that’s read a few essays on this blog, Caffeinated Politics is again the low hanging fruit. In this installment, we see the author, Gregory Humphrey aka dekerivers, signal his virtue in an essay titled “Rot Of Conservative Talk Radio, Young Muslim Boy Stabbed 26 Times, Killer Sent To Jail For 53 Years, Racism Core of Story“. Humphrey signals his virtue by opposing what he calls a “cesspool of hate” that exists in talk radio. Humphrey wrote a very clear cause and effect statement, “…Czuba had been listening to conservative talk radio about the Israel-Hamas war and became increasingly concerned about his Muslim tenants before he confronted them, and fatally stabbing Wadea…”. The bold-faced words are Humphrey’s emphasis not mine. Let’s not ignore for even a moment that Humphrey’s direct implication is that talk radio rhetoric is the core reason that this hate filled man, Czuba, stabbed a young Muslim boy, Wadea, 26 times. Yes what I quoted is what a cause and effect statement looks like, “A cause and effect statement describes the relationship between an event or action (the cause) and its resulting outcome (the effect)”, and a cause and effect statement directly implies that without the cause there would be no effect. Speaking in direct cause and effect engineering terms, Humphrey seems to think that talk radio is the root source of the hate that caused the murder.
In addition to Humphrey’s anti “cesspool of hate” virtue signaling, Humphrey openly complains about broadcasters no longer following the Fairness Doctrine which “mandates broadcast networks devote time to contrasting views on issues of public importance”, but the doctrine was shelved because it violated free speech rights guaranteed by the First Amendment. You can read about the Fairness Doctrine here and here. Honestly, the core principle of the Fairness Doctrine should be part of journalism ethics and unrelentingly drilled into journalists and journalism far and wide, this core principle of fairness in journalism is (or should be) the foundation of the Fourth Estate of our Democracy. Yes, a government regulation dictating this kind of thing is most definitely a violation of the First Amendment. The problem we have now is that ever since the Fairness Doctrine regulation was shelved, the main stream media (MSM) complex flushed journalism ethics and have veered towards full advocacy journalism and in doing so they have completely undermined and in some ways completely destroyed public trust in the Fourth Estate.
So there we have it, Humphrey has signaled not one but two virtues. The first one being his moral opposition of a “cesspool of hate” and the second one being ethically in favor of the Fairness Doctrine in journalism. The underlying values of these virtues definitely have their place in our society and culture; so, since Humphrey and I seem to agree with the underlying values of the virtues he signaled, where is my issue with Humphrey’s essay?
It’s hypocrisy, brazen hypocrisy!

Virtue Defined
Behavior showing high moral standards.
Integrity Defined
The quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness.
Genuine integrity simply cannot exist when there’s apparently no self-awareness present that results in brazen hypocrisy. Hypocrisy is a cancer that silently eats away at ethics and morals of an individual. Hypocrisy is one of the root evils that causes unwelcome, unethical and immoral changes in our society and culture and it needs to be confronted head on and stamped out when we see it.
First let’s look at Humphrey’s brazen hypocrisy related to his moral virtue signaling against a “cesspool of hate”. A very short eight days ago, Humphrey wrote in his very own “cesspool of hate” that he calls Caffeinated Politics that…
“The immoral and disgusting Trump voters are to blame for having a two year-old US citizen deported to Honduras under the insanity coming from the Trump administration.”
That claim is a baldfaced hate filled LIE that’s presented by a hate filled regressive progressive to falsely smear Trump and every person that voted for him.
“The most ignorant and lowlife Trump voters who cared not one goddamn bit for this country, but voted out of spite, wanting to own the libs, and voting for the racist bullshit have turned this nation, literally upside down. The problem is they are too goddamn stupid to even know what they’ve done. “
That’s just one in a long line of Humphrey’s “cesspool of hate” essays at Caffeinated Politics. You can fairly argue that it’s unfair to use just one essay to represent a a long line pattern showing a “cesspool of hate”, so here’s a few more.
Humphrey wrote in no uncertain terms that AM talk radio has become “…a cesspool of hate…” and then he goes a bit further trying to justify his statement of hate by writing “…with right-wing grievances and resentments piled higher than the cordwood stacked up for winter stoves in rural counties”. Let’s see some of the hate filled “grievances and resentments” that Humphrey has written about the political right; how about repeated comparisons of Trump to Hitler, claims that Trump, Trump supporters, Republicans, and Conservatives are racists, white supremists, liars, fascists, immoral, disgusting, lowlife, ignorant, stupid, deplorables, etc. It’s completely obvious to me that Humphrey’s blog is a “cesspool of hate” directed at the political right and Trump, but somehow his “cesspool of hate” is acceptable to him and the cesspool of hate from conservative talk radio is totally unacceptable, this is brazen hypocrisy.
When Humphrey was smearing talk radio as being the source of hate causing a murder he wrote this…
“There is a segment of the public who are prone to violence and mentally on the edge, only needing someone to give them the license to act in ways that run counter to the rules of society.”
Of course in context with the theme of Humphrey’s essay, he’s clearly talking about right-wing talk radio as giving license to a violent man to murder a kid while he completely ignores logic that dictates that the constant anti-Trump, anti-Republican and anti-Conservative “grievances and resentments” hateful rhetoric that HE spews could also give one of his might be “mentally on the edge” readers a “license to act in ways that run counter to the rules of society”. Yes it’s brazen hypocrisy for Humphrey to openly attack what he calls a “cesspool of hate” on talk radio and directly imply that it’s the core cause that affected an actual murder without looking in the hypocrisy mirror and seeing that his constant attack dog “cesspool of hate” rhetoric doesn’t reflect back an honorable face, this is a tragic lack of self-awareness.

When it comes to Humphrey’s virtue signaling the core value of the Fairness Doctrine, you can see for yourself in the essays he publishes on Caffeinated Politics that that particular value is far, far from a being a core value to him. Even with a story that was so transparently false, Humphrey chose to parrot the prepackaged anti-Trump and anti-political right narrative, which was and still is a bald-faced lie. So without a shred of evidence to support the claim and he didn’t even “devote time to contrasting views on [an] issue of public importance“, Humphrey chose to parrot a false narrative, a LIE! This is not the first time Humphrey has knowingly parroted bald-faced lies, check out how many times Humphrey has knowingly falsely claimed on his blog that Trump “was found guilty of rape” or “convicted as a rapist” (here are two that I know of, here and here) when it’s common knowledge that that is a lie, so Humphrey is literally parroting a libelous statement. Parroting the transparently false narrative about deporting a 2 year old citizen of the USA is so signature significant all by itself that it completely pulls the rug our from under his false virtue signaling regarding the Fairness Doctrine, he’s deluding himself. Of course, the argument that a progressive shill would try to make at this point is that the value associated with the Fairness Doctrine only applies to broadcast networks and not to a social media influencer/blogger like him, which would literally be claiming to “support a moral standard to which his own actions do not conform”.

Remember the title of the blog I linked to at the beginning of this essay,
“Rot Of Conservative Talk Radio, Young Muslim Boy Stabbed 26 Times, Killer Sent To Jail For 53 Years, Racism Core of Story”
I wonder how partisan hate filled bloggers, like Humphrey, would like it if there was a blog titled,
“Rot Of Progressive Blogging, Young MAGA Boy Stabbed 26 Times, Killer Sent To Jail For 53 Years, Bigotry Core of Story”
The kinds of brazen hypocrisy we’ve seen from so many in the 21st century political left seems to be a right of passage for Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) anti-Trump progressives (aka regressives). When the ends justifies the means seems to be the core political tactic, and anything they say and do is unethically rationalized, it’s clear that ethics and morals have been flushed and that morality mirror that could have helped with some genuine self-awareness has been shattered into a billion pieces.

Not that it was necessary, but The Gotch thanks you for reminding him why he no longer wastes his precious time reading what may be charitably described as Deke Drivel.

Well stated. If you provide the space to allow people to reveal their true nature, they most definitely will!
