Are “We the People” Irretrievably Broken?

The purpose of the Society’s Building Blocks blog is “Critically Thinking About Things That Change Society” and it’s been a rather depressing task in the 21st century to identify all the absurdities that are destroying our culture and society. The core foundations that have supported our society and culture for nearly 250 years are crumbling under the catastrophic weight of cultish tribal partisanship that morally bankrupt activists are actively promoting. I’m honestly wondering if We the People of the United States of America have become irretrievably broken?

Justice is to be meted out impartially, without regard to the identity of the individual being tried, that’s why Lady Justice has a blindfold covering her eyes.

How quaint.

I think it’s fair to say that we have reached a major societal and cultural crossroads in the USA where we either ride the train wreck that leads us to more of the ends justifies the means, show me the man and I’ll find you the crime, individual rights be damned, open political persecution, and tit-for-tat vengeance or we slam on the brakes on this societal and cultural train wreck right now, stop the intentional abuse of the system, stamp out the intentional bastardizations of our laws and core principles, return the USA to the path of genuine Liberty that’s guided by the Constitution as written, and begin rebuilding our nation before there is massive civil unrest and blood in the streets.

Back in April of 2023 I wrote in my blog post Our Last Effective Non-Violent Barrier Against Totalitarianism that…

If we allow this brainwashed cult of hive-minded irrational social justice woke warriors to gain control of our justice system and the courts, then the rule of law and the Constitution will be effectively done…

We’re here!

I’ve never voted for Trump or Biden and I’ve openly stated that “it would take an unpredictable act of God, an extraordinary turn of events, for me to vote for Trump or Biden in the 2024 general election”. I’m an independent that leans Conservative. That said; I firmly believe that what happened with the trial and subsequent conviction of Donald Trump in New York was pure political persecution. I also firmly believe that the trial and conviction in New York is a huge piece of glaring evidence that our society has past the point where cultish tribal partisanship completely overrules common sense, critical thinking, logic, and Liberty and the ends justifies the means now reigns supreme. This trial has violated core foundational principles of the United States of America, the individual constitutional rights of a major presidential candidate in the middle of an election cycle, and it’s unadulterated election interference; this is another fundamental crossroads where the USA must chose which way to go based on existing law, its values and its morals.

If the Appeals Court or Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) doesn’t immediately step in and intervene with a very forceful unanimous ruling against the blatantly biased Judge and Prosecutor in this obvious political persecution travesty of justice then the USA is in SERIOUS trouble.

  1. Steve,

I pray that we are not, but fear that we are, irretrievably broken. I’m not ready to don the sackcloth and carry a “The End Is Near” sign, but I fear our decline has entered a new phase and hit a higher gear. We may linger on for a while, like the late Roman Empire, but certainly the country we are in is distinctly different from the one in which I grew up. And I expect it will change more, and faster, in next decade.
