Part II: Moderation in Nextdoor Deforest, WI Community Has Been Thoroughly Corrupted! [ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ADDED]

Wonder why I call the moderation in the Nextdoor Deforest, WI Community corrupted, Part II of this saga should explain it fairly well to those still sitting on the fence. Part I is here.

Complete Transparency: I’ve been suspended from Nextdoor, again.

Last time they suspended me for daring to publicly point out their tyrannical moderation tactics when it comes to questioning the actions of the moderators. How dare anyone question them publicly, the horror!

This time I was suspended for not being respectful to other commenters. Get this, I’m supposed to be respectful to the ones that are actually posting lies about me and my sister and literally posting multiple insults that the moderators have refused to take down; yup, I’m supposed to be respectful to these assholes? Personally I don’t give a crap if others insult me or call me names on social media platforms, they’re revealing their own ignorance and lack of integrity to readers; however, when the rules of the social media platform specifically state that insults like this are not allowed, reporting their behavior seems reasonably appropriate, if nothing else maybe the insulter could learn from it. Also; don’t screw around with my family, especially with false accusations that are libelous or slanderous, you will incur my wrath.

Here’s what happened most recently.

After being released from my previous Nextdoor suspension prison a few days ago, I came across a post from a person in the Nextdoor DeForest WI Community named Becky Dean. I assume it’s a fake name because I can’t find anyone living in DeForest community by that name. Maybe this “Becky”, if that’s her real name, used her maiden name “Dean” or maybe used the first name of her sweetie “Dean” as her fictitious last name. Regardless of what she did to create her account, it appears to me to be a fake name and according to Nextdoor’s Community Guidelines this is against the rules which specifically state…

If it’s not an accurate assumption that her name is fictitious (it IS an assumption on my part based on available information) and someone can prove to me that it’s her real name, then I’ll retract that claim and completely delete that information from my post.

All that aside, Becky Dean posted an intentional lie, yes literally a lie, about my sister, Rebecca, who happens to be a Trustee on the DeForest Village Board. In my opinion it’s a libelous statement. What was the lie; Becky posted the following statement as fact,

“Trustee who was caught on camera lying…”

…when the actual facts reflect that Becky, and others, are calling words that were literally not spoken a lie. This was specifically pointed out in a respectful informational comment that I posted as a reply to Becky’s post.

Libel: a published false statement that is damaging to a person’s reputation; a written defamation.

This post flagrantly broke two Nextdoor Community Guidelines, the first of course is not being respectful…

It’s not respectful to intentionally lie about your neighbors.

Second violation of Nextdoor Community Guidelines is clearly misinformation…

It’s very disrespectful to post intentional lies about someone in a clear effort to gin up faux hate from mobs of parroting imbeciles. It’s also clearly misinformation because it literally fits the definition of misinformation which is “false or inaccurate information”. Since I can’t report a post for more than one violation from the Nextdoor Community Guidelines at a time, I had to choose, so I chose to report the post for misinformation. A few very short hours after I reported the post as misinformation, I was suspended under false pretenses and as of the posting of this blog, the disrespectful misinformation is still visible to readers on Nextdoor. Here is the suspension appeal I submitted…

Side Note: If these people want to try to claim that Village Trustee’s are required to reveal who they know and how long they’ve been “friends/acquaintances” if they happen to be speaking in a Village public meeting and therefore the Trustee engages in a lie by omission if they don’t reveal the “friendships/acquaintances”, then they would still be wrong and engaging in misinformation. FYI; Village Trustees are not required to reveal this kind of information.

So what’s going on; these people have been, and are still, actively attacking my sister with false accusations because they don’t like what a speaker she barely knew said in the public meeting and they don’t like how my sister cast her vote on the topic of Fluorinated Public Water. This was in February, five months ago. It seems to me that they’ve let their hate consume them and thay can’t seem to let it go, their anger and vengeance has been rolling out ever since. They’ve been, and still are, lashing out at my sister five months later, still making all kinds of false claims that she lied (by not saying something), and they’re openly calling an actual court case against the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) that’s that’s a matter of public record and was used as part of the information the board used to inform them about issues with Fluorinated Public Water, they’re falsely labeling a legal court case as “misinformation” because they don’t like the conclusions. This is very intentional public deception! These people are intentionally lying to everyone in their efforts to publicly destroy my sister’s reputation. This is despicable immoral behavior. What they are doing is evil, which is defined as “profoundly immoral and wicked”.

Now lets get into the comment thread associated with Becky Dean’s post. Here is the message I get right now when I try to access my Nextdoor account on my iPad…

I looked up the comments that were moderated according to the list provided in the suspension notice and will share screen shots so no one thinks I’m whitewashing anything, 100% full transparency. I’ll start with the the comment I was replying to and then show my reply.

First is the comment posted by Becky Dean…

Side note, the anti-Steve smears actually began as I predicted after I posted that, the first one appeared within the same hour I posted my reply.

In my reply, I specifically quoted Becky’s statement that I was addressing which was a blatant lie, I gave my opinion about the accuracy of Becky’s statement, I challenged Becky to provide any strawman argument I posted, I provided an accepted definition of a strawman for clarity, then I specifically addressed Becky’s claim about my intent which admittedly included some tough but very truthful words about the general commentary I’d observed in the thread, then of course, I made a prediction that came true relatively fast. The prediction was an easy call based on the observed behavior of commenters in the thread.

I reported Becky’s comment above as misinformation, which is exactly what a lie like that is, they moderated my reply comment and hid it from public view and they left Becky’s blatant lie visible to the public. It’s interesting that they left Becky’s comment visible and hid my reply and then proceeded to used my reply as justification for suspending me.

Next we have a screen shot of a nice little conversation between Josh Klug and myself…

Yup we all knew he was calling me a snowflake using the emoticons instead of typing the word, as if that was some kind of shield from moderation. It was another one of Josh’s ad hominems. Josh had already called me a narcissist in his smearing comment that followed the 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 comment above, that comment containing the narcissist insult was removed after I reported it. Here is my reply in this conversation…

Josh confirmed that he was calling me a snowflake so I reported Josh’s comment above that contained the three snowflake emoticons, another smearing comment that he posted after the 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 comment that also contained the same three snowflake emoticons insult, and the comment above that began with “Steve smart guy like you…”; these were all reported because they flagrantly broke Nextdoor Community Guidelines of not being respectful. At the end of that little exchange with Josh, he openly admitted that he was calling me a snowflake…

Stating “this is why you’re a snowflake” is an open admission of what we all knew he was calling me when he was trying to hide behind three snowflake emoticons. Here’s exactly how I replied to this admission…

I gave his opinion a measure of respect and gave him a chance to support his opinion using my own words, he never did so. This is typical of trolling attack dogs, they accuse but can never support their accusations with facts, that’s because their purpose is to divert the discussion down a different rabbit hole of absurdity by throwing out any absurd nonsense they can think of to try and anger their target. Josh shows the signs of being an internet troll.

Troll: Those that post inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion, to draw attention to themself and for their own amusement.

At this point in time all of these comments of Josh’s that I reported for respect problems are still visible (except the ones he actually typed the word “snowflake”) but my reply comment above has been hidden and used as justification for suspending me.

It is 100% clear to me that the actions taken by some of the moderators at Nextdoor DeForest WI Community show blatant bias and immoral double standards, it’s plane as the nose on my face. To be completely honest, it appears to me that there is a cabal of local moderators, including one admitted moderator in the thread I linked to above that openly claimed “my experience on Nextdoor, as a Lead and Moderator for over 5 years” and proceeded to reveal a very real and very flagrant bias. Again full transparency, here is the conversation with that self proclaimed moderator in full…

Now I have to give credit where credit is due; the self proclaimed moderator was smart enough not to reply to my comment, but it surprised me that he didn’t get my reply to his comment deleted, maybe that would have been too obvious to some of the ignorant people browsing the threads, after all, you gotta keep secret corruption secret. What I was also really surprised about in Travis’s comment is the flagrant bias and baldfaced lies that a self proclaimed Nextdoor moderator was willing to openly share. He must feel thoroughly justified in sharing his flagrant bias and baldfaced lies without having to worry about any repercussions – this revelation should make any rational thinking person really uncomfortable.

Conclusion
It’s become very clear to me that there’s a cabal of moderators that are working together to silence opinions they don’t like, if someone reports them. They are also running moderator cover for people that they agree with, when their comments are reported. These moderators are abusing their power and abusing a corrupted moderation system. This is pure corruption in action. Nextdoor administrators and owners need to clean house and fix their problem.

Does anyone still wonder why I’m openly calling the moderation in the Nextdoor DeForest WI Community corrupted?

Here is a couple of quotes I just found from two 2024 posts by one of the Nextdoor DeForest WI Community moderators that’s on the local review team, the same Travis Blair that has already shown his bias above, here are his observations in 2024…

“…there is a coordinated effort to try and have this post removed. It’s a strategy being used thats an abuse of the NextDoor platform.”

“There have been recent hot debate topics which have generated reports. Some of the reporting submitted is clearly not a violation of guidelines. But there is a coordinated effort to get the posts removed anyway.”

I don’t think Travis was aware of just how accurate those two cherry picked statements were as general statements, regardless of how he was apparently using the statements in a biased manner, also he apparently didn’t truly understand how badly the system could be abused.

Back in 2024, what the moderator, Travis, perceived as “abuse” was actually a person who was being repeatedly attacked on the Nextdoor platform and reporting many of those hostile comments, this was my politician sister discussed above. These weren’t just a couple of isolated incidents, they were all over the DeForest Nextdoor community and they were constant. There were dozens and dozens of false accusations, in-your-face false innuendo, and verifiable misinformation spewed out by a cabal of hate filled anti-Rebecca people. No politician anywhere can address a onslaught of constant hate filled comments like that, and that’s exactly what these attackers do, on purpose. They inundate a social media platform with their hateful attacks, then they blame the politician for the hate, then they attack the politician for not addressing their attacks all while knowing full well that the politician can’t possibly contradict every hate filled comment they post, so they post and post. The hate filled attackers intentionally create a lose-lose situation for the politician and they basically get away with their hateful comments because they have Nextdoor moderators that are actively covering for them to keep their hate filled comments visible and the politicians cannot address the onslaught. This is exactly what partisan attack dogs want, a silent politician that they can smear at will. There was one time that my sister specifically addressed a comment by a voter and stated very clearly in the first paragraph of her reply

“I typically refuse to respond to the types of baseless and quite frankly defamatory attacks that have been lodged against me by supporters of my opponent; however, I will respond this one time. Accept or reject my response however you see fit. I will not respond to any further defamatory attacks.”

She then very respectfully responded to the voter’s concerns, and immediately after posting, one of the cabal’s attack dogs attacked her by intentionally misrepresenting what she had just written with some innuendo that he twisted to absurdity, this attack dog proceeded to attack multiple times in the same thread, one right after another. Instead of the moderators actually addressing the attackers throughout the community, the moderators chose to blame and punish the victim, this is morally bankrupt corrupted behavior. Travis Blair, a Nextdoor local moderator, even went so far as to smear the politician, in a public post, in fact it was one of the very posts I pulled one of the above quotes from. Travis literally did exactly what I said others have done; he attacked her for not replying to attacks, blocking attackers, reporting attacks to stop the attacks, and blamed her for the hateful attacks against her. Is this the kind of openly biased moderator Nextdoor wants as leader on a local review team?

In a different post; Travis describes the Nextdoor moderation like this…

“The philosophy is designed to work like this: posts should only be removed if the village majority believe they are in violation. Moderators are supposed to represent the village’s diverse opinions by getting a vote that allows them to speak for some.”

Notice that they are simply looking for a majority that “believe” something regardless if it’s actually true or not! Then the moderation reporting process throws in a choice like “misinformation”, even though it’s literally not part of the Community Guidelines, and stupid people that have been propagandized into believing that anything that their opposition presents is misinformation, regardless of actual fact, and you have a thoroughly corrupted system ready to abuse anyone that happens to veer from the accepted narrative that the masses happen to “believe”. Pure democracy, like this system is set up, is PRIME for massive abuse and manipulation and that leads to corruption; what I’m seeing on Nextdoor DeForest WI Community is this kind of corruption. Remember…

A lie is still a lie, even if everyone believes it.
A fact is still a fact, even if no one believes it.

What’s really interesting is that regardless of who did what and when it was done in the mess that has been transpiring over the last year or so, it’s really clear to me that even Travis, the moderator, recognized the moderation system could be abused, but again, he apparently didn’t truly understand how badly the system could be abused.

That was a year ago, the abuse is still happening today.
