VOTERS HAVE SPOKEN!
In Wisconsin, the campaign (aka attack ad circus) for the Wisconsin Supreme Court is finally over and we the people of Wisconsin will see some temporary relief from the onslaught of disgusting twisted propaganda attack ads and bald-faced lies. It was clearly evident that the voters, that chose to vote, chose Susan Crawford for the Supreme Court over Brad Schimel, I disagree with that choice but I accept the outcome of the people. If you use the same kind of boneheaded propaganda false logic that the Democrats used since Elon Musk chose to throw his endorsement and dollars behind Brad Schimel, then George Soros bought himself another state Supreme Court Justice.
The four current liberal leaning justices of the Wisconsin Supreme Court embarrassed themselves last night at Crawford’s victory party, they showed up on stage with Crawford as she claimed her win. Dave Cieslewicz of the Yellow Stripes & Dead Armadillos blog, a past City of Madison Democratic Party mayor wrote that the “…idea that justices would be independent and evaluate each case as individual jurists went completely out the window” thus exhibiting the kind of cultish pure partisan behavior that Crawford’s opponent Brad Schimel warned the voters about. Cieslewicz went on to write that they “will vote as a block regardless of the legal merits of the case. It’s not a court, but a sorority” which, based on their partisan public display last night, seems like an entirely reasonable prediction, but time will tell. What we saw on the stage last night was a hack pack of left leaning Justices showing we the people of the State of Wisconsin that these Justices are already circling their wagons and they’re going to take advantage of their majority dominance which is exactly what Schimel predicted they would do.
I didn’t vote for Crawford and I openly stated that I don’t trust her, but I’m willing to take the position of a genuine Independent voter who respects the outcome of elections and I’ll give Susan Crawford a chance to prove herself after she takes her seat on Wisconsin’s highest court later this year. Crawford, and her fellow left leaning Justices, have a chance to prove Schimel wrong, prove him right, or try to find some middle ground showing the citizens of Wisconsin blind justice. Remember what blind justice means, it means that justice should be administered impartially, without bias or favoritism, treating everyone equally under the law, regardless of their status or background. Can the newly formed hack pack of left leaning justices accomplish blind justice, maybe, but I’m not going to hold my breath after last night’s circling of the wagons at the Crawford victory party,
The citizens of Wisconsin should want our Supreme Court to be successful and we should do what we can to inspire the court to be unbiased and render judgements based solely on existing Wisconsin law and the United States Constitution and keep activism out of the court.
We the people of Wisconsin, and I, will be watching what the Wisconsin Supreme Court does very closely.
