This is an old Zoltar Speaks! blog post.
Pay close attention to exactly what the questions are asking before answering; don’t read what’s not there.
Consider this hypothetical scenario:
1. There are accusations spreading far and wide that Joe Blow is a racist; in your opinion does that mean Joe Blow is a racist? – Yes or No
2. In your opinion, is a person being accused of being a racist a legitimate reason to be hated? – Yes or No
3. In the eyes of those that hate Joe Blow because they believe the accusations of racism are true, in your opinion, is their hate justified? – Yes or No
In today’s political climate the answer to all those questions from people who’s ideology resides left of the political aisle, would almost universally be yes Joe Blow is a racist based on the accusations and therefore Joe Blow would have to suffer the consequences of being literally hated; why, because we universally condemn racists and no one should be caught dead not condemning a racist because condemning a racist is the right thing to do. This is 59. The Ironic Rationalization, or “It’s The Right Thing To Do”.
What if you were the Joe Blow being accused, would you answer differently?
Now consider this:
What if the accusations are actually false?
What if the accusations are based on intentional lies?
What if the accusations are nothing more than hysterical hyperbole based on innuendo that is intentionally ginned up to make others hate you and there’s actually no factual proof that you are a racist?
Now answer these questions:
4. In the eyes of those that hate you because they believe the accusations are true, is their hate justifiable to them? – Yes or No
5. A short definition of the word valid is having a sound basis in logic or fact; reasonable or cogent. Since you, and literally every person that knows you, know that you are actually not a racist, is the hate that others have towards you valid? – Yes or No
6. Is it morally and ethically right for others to literally hate you based on unproven accusations? – Yes or No
Now let’s shift gears and talk about the hate being exhibited by anti-Trump’ers toward President Trump and anyone that appears to support him.
Like in the example above where you were accused of being a racist; validity is the real problem with hating President Trump based on accusations and what about hating those that appear to support President Trump just because you hate President Trump. There is no factual evidence that President Trump is actually guilty of the things he is being accused of, there’s only innuendo, accusations, ginned up hyperbole, extrapolations of innuendo to the point of complete absurdity (like you’re a racist in the example above), etc, etc, etc. When people are actively looking for reasons to justify their irrational hate, they’ll latch onto anything they can to support their hate even if those reasons are not valid. Anti-Trump haters will argue and argue stating accusations as if they are proof to validate their hate of President Trump and those that appear to support him but when their arguments can’t stand up to critical thinking they ignore the fact that they’re wrong and attack the individual(s) that debunked their arguments. We see this rhetorical pattern way too often from the political left.
For what it’s worth, I don’t like Donald Trump, I never have and probably never will. From what I’ve seen of Trump I think he’s a terrible person, but there is a problem and that problem is that just about the only thing I know about Trump is the persona that he chooses to share and what the Progressive biased media chooses to show me. I didn’t vote for Trump and if I had to do it all over again I wouldn’t vote him again; side note – I can say the the exact same thing about Hillary Clinton. The difference between me an anti-Trump haters is I will not allow myself to succumb to the ridiculousness of hate based on innuendo, accusations, ginned up hyperbole, and extrapolations of innuendo to the point of complete absurdity. Until these piles & Piles & PILES & PILES of Trump accusations can actually be proven, not with more accusations and innuendo, hate based on these things is invalid hate; yes, it’s invalid hate! If you hate Trump your hate is invalid and you’re being immoral. If you hate those that appear to support Trump, your hate is invalid and you’re being immoral.
HATE is a Hostile & Aggressive Transforming Emotion that causes a person to disregard common sense. Invalid hate is immoral and it turns the hater into an ignorant asshole!
